Gear 1 4Real African Bitters is blended from roots, bark, leaf and herb extracts. Here is what goes into the bottle and what each part brings to the taste.

• Caramel Herbal Flavour Extract — 10%
  Gives the blend its dark colour and a rounded, faintly sweet note that sits underneath the bitterness.
• Aloe — 15%
  A succulent used in traditional preparations across Africa for generations. It adds body and a clean, faintly vegetal edge.
• Water
  The base of the blend, used to extract and carry the botanical infusion.
• Khaya Ivorensis — 10%
  African mahogany, a West African hardwood whose bark has long been used in traditional bitters. It carries the deep, woody bitterness at the centre of the drink.
• Soma Leaf
  A traditional herb included for its aromatic character, lending a green, herbal top note.
• Rhuherbs Root — 7%
  A bitter root long used in herbal preparations. It adds sharpness and length to the finish.
